About this exhibition
I started work on these charcoal drawings in 2004 as thematic and compositional studies for future oil paintings. However, I would like you to see them as artworks in their own right.
The themes explore the relationship between the psychological and physiological states of the human characters depicted.
All appear in fantasy environments, the symbology of which nevertheless is very real, sometimes too real for them.
Maybe you can attempt to decipher my characters' complex worlds? … But as the artist, I choose not to delve too deeply!
